Som man är van / As you are used to
The weather here is not at all like home in Sweden, surprise surprise! Just joking, but I find it wierd how you adapt to you where you are. Like, today has been a really nice day with 25-30 degrees, which would be a really good summers day in Sweden. It has been probably around 30-40 here the last week or something and I'll tell you that that is hot. So I am pretty happy with 25-30 degrees. I was down to Cottesloe beach and handed in my resume at a restaurant there and the weather was good for the beach but still not quite. I can't describe it but it is really wierd, warm weather here is something completely different form back home. I can find myself wanting to go to the moving just because it's cool in there while you don't go to the to cool down back home, usually it's to get in to the warmth or something. So, it is simply how you are used to things and I think you sometimes adapt pretty quickly, but it seems like we are getting hot weather again and it's not gonna be that much fun but as my dad says "you can't change the weather". So I guess I will just have to go to the movies or something :)

I moved into my own room the other day. It's in a house with 4 australian guys, but one of them are barely here. They are nice guys that is not too messy but a cleaning session is needed haha. The tenant is a clean freak so we get along just great, gonna have a cleaning session on sunday. Many have asked for my address here, and this is it:
It is so hot here at the moment, never experienced anything like it. Probably 30+ every day and I think it's supposed to stay that way for a while, or maybe dip down to 25 or something. The worst thing is that it's not getting cooler during the evenings and nights and not having aircon in the house, so I'm living off my fan at the moment, at least it helps a little bit. I hope everything is good with you people at home, I miss you all and I will try to become better att making updates, I'm not too good at that at the moment ;)
Hur många..../ How many....
Gick vidare till The Royal Botanic Garden.
… days does it take to see a big city? I guess that is a question about how much you want to see and how much you are willing to run around. I have been running around quite a bit during my few days in Sydney. I got there Wednesday afternoon and mostly walked around The Rocks before I was supposed to climb Harbour Bridge. Incredible! It took some time to get all geared up and go through all the safety rules and some simulations. The view that you see right when you get out there is very nice, straight away. We took some picture before the sun started to set, we got to see an amazing sunset and then see all the lights come on in the city. This night you could see that there was a storm out over the ocean so you could see the lightning up among the clouds which was pretty cool, I just hope no one got hit by it. When we got down again I got a certificate and a group photo. I have to say that my legs were shaking a bit after 2 hours on a windy bridge, but it was such a cool thing to have done!
Woke up early and started the day with buying a day pass for the public transport, so I easy could go everywhere and be able to see a lot. Bought breakfast and took the ferry to manly, about 30 minutes from Curcular Quay. I had been recommended to take the ferry a bit to be able to see parts of the city and the harbour that you would not normally see, was nice to sit in the front and see everything pass by. Manly is out towards the ocean with nice beaches, good shopping a nature reserve that I unfortunately did not have time to walk around in. Walked around a bit and ended up by some cliffs towards the Pacific, beautiful! Saw some lizards, Water Dragons, and the biggest nastiest spider I have ever seen out in the wild. Turned around and walked back. I look kind of dangerous so it was probably the best, haha! Hopped back on the ferry, back to the city and took the bus to Bondi Beach. There were a few other Swedish people on the bus and I love to listen in on conversations when they think no one can understand them. It sounded like they were from Stockholm and they complained about the cigarettes being so expensive, then stop smoking! Problem solved. At Bondi, sure it is a nice beach and it looks like it could be some nice restaurants around but I don’t really understand what the big fuzz is about that beach. Got back on the bus and got on the ferry to Darling Harbour. Walked around there for a bit, really nice! If I would have been traveling with someone I would probably had down at one of the nice-looking places along the water. But since I was by myself I went to Starbucks and got an ice-tea. I managed to end up in the Chinese Garden of Friendship when I was walking around, it was very nice and relaxing except from the kids that uncontrolled were running around, but I guess I should be used to that after been working at Enögla, haha! I went to the aquarium at around 6 pm, I had bought a ticket online earlier, cheaper that way. It was a nice aquarium, Lene would have liked it. I saw sharks, sting rays, differents colourful and uncolourful fishes and dugongs (aka. Seacow). I discovered on my way back to the hostel that it was late night shopping. That is something they have pretty much all over this country, one night a week are the stores closing late, at around 9 or 10 pm. It is really nice and calm to go around and just look in stores at that time a day, not as busy. I fell a sleep like a clubbed seal and I did not move the entire night, exhausted!
The next morning consisted of packing my bag and check-out early, store my things and then head out to check out the Opera house. It is an amazing building and it is soooooo big! I am happy I did that in the morning before all the tourists come around. It is a pretty fasinating view when you get to see both the Opera house and Harbour Bridge. Walked over to the Royal Botanic Garden. A really nice park that I really can recommend to visit, not too much people before lunch so that is the perfect time to go there. After that I walked around to find Sydney Tower Eye. You would think that this lookout would be easy to find but it’s not when you have many other skyscrapers around. When I found it and entered it started with a 4D movie about Sydney and the tower. Then you have to take the elevator all the way up, 305 meters. Pretty cool but at the same time I saw a big part of it when I climbed the bridge, so if you don’t climb the bridge I can recommend to go up the tower. Down on the ground again I went to find Paddy’s Markets. Not hard to find and it is a big building with booths selling different things, everything from veggies and fruit to lamps, socks, hair accessories, you name it! Pretty fun to walk around and have a look. On top of that is Market City with outlet stores, but I had promised myself not to shop since I was a bit worried about the weight of my suitcase ( which I later found out I had no need to be). I walked through China town on my way back to the main streets. I always find it interesting when you have there small communities of people that always speak their native language and can barely speak the local language, amazing that they get by so well that they do. Bought some food and went to Hyde Park and sat down for a bit. Walked past the Art Gallery of New South Wales on the way back to the hostel, they had a Picasso exhibition on that I really wanted to see but I did not have the time. I sat down in the Botanic Garden for a while, so incredible tired, before I went and picked up my bag and got onto the airport transfer. It was a very very tired Johanne that sat down on the plane to Perth, slept at least half of the way. The flight took 5 hours, and that is just to the other part of the country, imagine doing that kind of flight in Europe, you would be in Africa, another continent.
Took a taxi from the airport and almost immediately went to bed, I was still on Sydney time which was about 3am since they are 3 hours ahead of Perth. Sydney was a city well worth a visit, but be prepared for A LOT of people and it’s kind of a stressful city, I like Perth better that way, but at the same time I guess Sydney is the most famous city in Australia so you can’t really expect anything else. I managed to see quite a lot in my 2,5 days and I am happy with that, now I’m going to settle down in Perth for a while and find some routines :)

Kort uppdatering från Sydney / Short update from Sydney
Time flies when you are having fun. It has been a long day today. I can to Sydney yesterday and I walked around a bit before I did the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb, so cool!!! I've done so much today, I went to Manly this morning, followed by Bondi Beach, back to the city, ferry to Darling Harbour, walked around a bit there, ended up in a chinese garden before I went to the aquarium and I ended the day with some late night shopping. I will have a very good sleep tonight, and my legs are very tired. It's gonna be another long day tomorrow and then I'm flying back to Perth at 9 pm, I will do a better update about everything later :)

Huvudstaden / The Capital
Spent the weekend in Canberra, the Australian capital. It was a last minute thing that we decided to do the day before we left. It took about 4 hours to drive down which is not bad in Aussie standards. We visited the Australian Was Memoral when we got there, it's pretty much a museum where they have collected a lot of things from all the different wars that Australia has participated in, which is many by the way, more than I ever though it would be. It was very interesting but at the same time very sad since so many people lost their lives. It is crazy how stupid we humans are, fighting eachother so much..... sick! But anyway, it was very interesting.
We stayed at a friend of Carlys. We went out for dinner and it was really good, at a place called "Wagamama", japanese I think. We had a nice evening and not too late but we were still a bit tired the next day which was spent shopping, watching a movie and then some partying, so much fun!!! We went to New Parliament house, pretty cool building. It is located just behind the Old Parliament house and oposite that, about 1 kilometer away or something, is the Australian War Memorial, it is in a perfectly straight line from door to door, that is pretty cool!
I am heading to Sydney tomorrow and then back to Perth on friday night.
Daughtry är tillbaka!!! / Daughtry is back!!!
I have finally found Daughtrys new CD on Spotify, it's so good! They absolutley one of my favourite bands. I'm heading back to Perth in about a week but before that I'm going to do some other stuff, Canderra for the weekend and then a few days in Sydney, will be great!
Lat eftermiddag / Lazy afternoon
Spent the afternoon being lazy and just reading a good book, lovley!

It is usually said that "New year, new posibilities" and maybe that is right but I think that every day should be a new posibility. I feel like I have all the posibilities in the world right now and I bet that there will be many more during the next months. It is exciting and a bit scary at the same time but I guess that is just life.
New Years Eve was spent at a houseparty in Merewether with Carly and some of her friends and some other people. We had a few drinks and then watched the fireworks. They have fireworks twice during the night here, once at 9.00 pm for the kids and then later at midnight as usual. We walked down to the ocean and watched the fireworks and celebrated the new year. A very good night!
New Years day was spent as it should be I suppose, half asleep and a half hangover all day, haha! But I had really tasty pancakes for breakfast. We felt better the day after and we went out on the lake to go water skiing. I have never been on water skis in my life but I got up standing after a few tries, it was a lot of fun but you really need good techniques to get up properly and in a good way. A sunburn came with the whole thing after a few hours out on the water and I get to pay for that now the day after, hello lobster! Yesterday ended with a dinner and a movie with good company :)
I just booked the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb, that is going to be so much fun!
Uppdrag slutfört!!! / Mission complete!!!
I have now finished the last 10 kilometers and I have now run all the 333 kilometers that was set to be done before the end of the year. YES YES YES!!!! It's been a struggle from time to time but I bet that what me and my friends have done the last few months is nothing compared to what people with cancer go through. I want to thank everyone that has helped, pushed and donated money, 3762 SEK has been raised and the goal was 2300 SEK, so I can't do more than bow my head for you and say thank you! It would not have been possible without you, THANK YOU!

Me and Carly went to Parkes Radio Telescope on Christmas Eve, it's a big telescope that was used during the moon landing in 1969. Pretty cool and it was big, 64 meters in diameter! I had no idea that something like this exsisted out there where we were, in the little town of Parkes in New South Wales. There is also a small museum next to the telescope which was very interesting but, as usual, I do not remember much about the information in there. We had lunch at the little café with a view of the whole thing, had a very tasty burger with a lot of stuff on it; beetroot, pineapple, onion, egg, lettuce, tomato and cheese. i don't think I have never had a burger with so many things on it, but that is they way you do it here in Australia, but it was very yummy.
All in all it's been a relaxing Christmas, a lot of driving on and off, but the distence here in this country is way bigger than back home. Christmas Day was spent at Carlys brothers farm in Barmedman with the whole family, then we had a few days at her sisters farm that's located about 15 minutes away from her brothers. Good food, nice company, one or two kangaroos and pissing rain mixed with nice sunny weather. Christmas is not the same without my family, miss them a lot now during these Christmas times, but now when Christmas is over, I bet it's gonna be better :) I got, to my big surprise, a few Christmas presents, I am really greatful and I really like them.

Vid teleskopet / At the telescope
Juldagen och mina julklappar / Christmas day and my presents
Lite regn / A bit of rain

Vacker solnedgång / Beautiful sunset
Min kära syster / My beloved sister
I have talked to my sister today on Skype for more than an hour. Supernice! I miss out talks about everything and nothing, we mostly talk about work since we worked at the same places. It's always as fun to see what fun stuff has happend during the day, someone who said something funny or someone who did something really stupid. To discuss out world problems, like the wardrobe is to smal and won't fit out clothes or what type of frosting to use for the cupcakes. Haha! She is one of my best friends and I miss her.

Mallorca 2009
Snart är det jul! / It's soon Christmas!
Köpt en nyårsklänning bland annat :) Very nice!
I feels weird not to be home for Christmas. De weirdest and also sadest thing is not to be able to be with my beloved family, I have never been without the on Christmas before, but I guess there is a first time for everything. I got all Christmas presents before I left so they are at home somewhere and are just waiting for the big day :)
The last few days has been pretty relaxed, haven't done that much. Been reading, watched a bit of tv and been getting around the area a little bit and been working out, mostly running. I have actually bought a dress for New Years :) don't know what we are going to do yet, but we will figure something out. I heard and saw that it had been snowing back home, so I hope that it created a bit more Christmas spirit back home, and I hope the snow stays so there will be a white Christmas :)

Danish Toffee Chocolate och Jordgubbar / Danish Toffee chocolate and Strawberries
Uppdatering från Australien / Update from Australia
I know that I haven't been writing in a while, but when I am writing in Swedish I would like to have access to our extra letter å, ä and ö, otherwise it looks kind of weird and can be hard to read. I am doing good, at the moment I am at Carlys house in Newcastle outside Sydney. I did a 4 day trip up to Moneky Mia on the west coast before we left to go here, it was absolutley amazing! One of the best things I've done, even though it was a lot of driving, it's such a huge country! But I got to see emus, kangaroos, dolphins, tigersharks and other stuff. The weather so far, here in Newcastle, has not been very good. It was nice and warm in Perth and here it's about +20 or something and cloudy, raining from time to time, but I guess it's better than the weather that is back home, hehe.
Tack, du gör skillnad! / Thank you, you make a difference!
A big thanks to everyone that came out on Saturday to the spinning class and supported mine and Louises foundraiser for cancer reasearch! Your donation can make such a big differens for so many people around the world! Thank you!

Livet förändras / Life is changing
It is unbelieveble how much can change so fast. I am thinking back on what I was doing and what I wanted to do a year ago, not everything has turned out the way I thought. Which is both good and bad, you can't plan your whole life. I remember how badly I wanted to move to London and start working there as fast as I was done with my studies and I still want that but I'll do that later. Instead I got a summer internship at ABB and I'm traveling/moving to Australia for a while. I also see how things are starting to get moving around my sister and brother; my sister just moved in with her boyfriend and my brother just got his first job and will graduate in June, Shit time goes by so fast! Like, when did we grow up?
Today is it exactly 3 weeks until I leave and Bex is coming to visit next week!!!
